These are the top three finishers from our November Fortnite Invitational tournament! We asked our three finalists about their experience during the circuit, and here were their responses:
First Place – Kyrieh
Name: Tico “Kyrieh” Lee
Favourite place to drop: In tournaments, I like playing passive and landing away from everybody, but in normal games I like to land aggressive like Lazy.
Advice for climbing in Fortnite: Learn to build and shoot. Once you have that down: learn to fight. Once that is done, play scrims to climb the ranks and be the best.
What do you hope to see out of competitive Fortnite in 2020? I hope Fortnite adds some kind of mobility so that it is easier to move around instead of being a helpless soul with nothing but aim to stay alive.
How does it feel being a two-time circuit champion? Feels great! I feel more comfortable at these events and I’m glad to be going against people like me in such a great community!
Second Place – Tavax
Name: Kevin “Tavax” Li
Favourite place to drop: In pubs, I like to land Salty springs or Lazy Lake because I like landing to the spot that’s most populated.
Advice for climbing in Fortnite: I got better at Fortnite by watching and learning from pro players. I also spent a lot of time playing Fortnite playing competitively. I also practiced a lot in customs and those are the main things that will help you get better.
What do you hope to see out of competitive Fortnite in 2020? I don’t really know what I want to see out of Fortnite, but just don’t make weird updates and listen to the community for feedback.
Third Place – Cirx
Name: Reagan “Cirx” Li
Favourite place to drop: My favourite place to drop is misty meadows, simply because I love W-keying in pubs and squads arena.
Advice for climbing in Fortnite: I think the easiest way to climb Fortnite is to just have fun with friends. There’s no point forcing yourself to play, and if you can enjoy the game while playing you would have much more motivation.
What do you hope to see out of competitive Fortnite in 2020? I hope that in Fortnite competitive, they bring back duos arena, and make cash cups at different times every week so different players with different schedules get a chance to try out.
